Spotlight on Blogging part 5 - A Guardsman's guide to glory

Spotlight on blogging logo

Greetings all - it's a bit late this week thanks to the narrative battle report I published on Tuesday - what can I say, having written it I couldn't wait!

This article returns to my series highlighting the other blogs on my reading list, this week the focus turns to A Guardsman's Guide to Glory.

This one's been on my list for a while, and although recently it's tended to focus on Infinity, a game I don't play and don't intend to start playing, it's worth mentioning that this is the first time I've ever really looked at a group of infinity miniatures and been impressed - not at the individual paint schemes because there are plenty out there that will blow your mind, no in this case I mean the way the painter has created a cohesive group of miniatures that look like they actually some kind of fighting force instead of a group of disparate individuals brought together for no particular reason.

Moving back to 40k however, as you can probably tell from the title, this blog does have a heavy Imperial Guard theme running through it. That's not why it's special though (only special blogs make it into my reading list after all). No, what caused that is that the author has not one, not two but three specialist Imperial Guard armies.

Enter the Elysians, the Death Korps of Krieg, and the Vostroyans. Wow, this guy loves guard like I love Space Marines, except when he starts a new army, he just starts a new army, I strip it all back or sell it and start again (I really must stop doing that and actually finish an army some day).

There's plenty more on the blog though in addition to the guard stuff, so head on over and check it out, his own blogroll is also extremely well equipped (with one exception, my own excellent blog doesn't seem to be on there ;) ) so there's plenty of other material to find all in one place!

Till next time,
TBE
