Spotlight on blogging Part 11 - Confessions of a 40k addict
Greetings all, I'm sure I'm telling you nothing by advertising this blog for you all, it's one of the Gloriana class blogs out there for anyone interested in 40k.
Dave over at the 40k addict is inspiration for many of us, not just in terms of his stunning armies that literally drip (nids in particular) with detail, but also for what he gives back to the hobby.
Never shy to answer questions or provide comments on other blogs, Dave is also exceedingly well organised, planning out his painting projects so that he knows how many evenings work each one is likely to take (in some ways I'm glad I don't know, it would probably break my spirit). He's also one of the most aware people I've encountered as regards the psychology of the hobby, even his blog name communicates his understanding that often this hobby of ours really is an addiction, and whilst it provides us with many ups, we always need to be aware of the potential pitfalls and the downs that it can bring to us.
More than any other site however, Dave really gives us resources. Inspiration aside, the 40k addict has actual templates that we can use to turn raggedy bits of old junk into actual impressive looking terrain (we're not talking sprayed-black coke cans here). Sadly my own attempt to create a huge centrepiece to a table has taken a back seat for now, but it's not dead, and will hopefully make an appearance at some point in the future.
In short, if you want inspiration, this is one of the best hobby blogs out there.
